WHAT CHILDREN LIKE TO SEE AND DO Most seasoned drama specialists and teachers will tell you that children are generally quick to overreact and to do so very honestly. This is not a bad attribute when handled carefully. Generally speaking, creative drama sessions must be lively. The story should be acted out as well as told, the characters must be interesting and believable, and the children should be challenged to think and encouraged to be involved. The ultimate goal is to entertain and enlighten. Conflict and resolution is a must. In a nutshell, a drama session for children is analogous to a roller coaster. The exciting action and activities are best if followed by meaningful processes that take them to the top of the next hill. They'll enjoy the ride.
